This is a love letter.
It is also a foldable exhibition.
In 1913, Alfred Joseph Frueh (an American cartoonist, and illustrator) wrote this as a love letter to Giuliette Fanciulli (his future wife). Between 1912 and 1915, he wrote her over 200 letters. In this one, he turns a dispatch from Paris into a detailed model of a museum, telling his fiancee to get ready for “a gallery marathon”.
After seeing a feature on this letter I was intrigued to learn more about the couple, their letter will come up on most searches, and there are interesting features on Alfred Joseph, yet sadly the only piece of information I could gather about Giulette, was that they met in New York. If you are reading this and enjoy falling down a research/reddit hole as much as I do, please write and let me know if you could discover more about her. I'd love to describe her as more than just his wife.
